66 Black Wings

by Gallows

supported by
LinkusMaximus
LinkusMaximus thumbnail
LinkusMaximus They totally wear old school Darkthrone on their sleeves and yet this is one of the best "influenced by" Darkthrone albums I've ever heard. It is absolutely mighty and worth repeat listens. It's like if A Blaze in the Northern Sky and Under a Funeral Moon had a baby, this would be their blackened offspring.

Sean TPLTR Perfect time of year to dive into this excellent album. Creeping vocals with blistering black/death metal! Blast beats are peppered in along with d-beat here and there. Toss in some creepy keyboard passages and this is one of the best of the year. This will be in the top 20 of the year for many! Favorite track: Blight of New Eden.

EyEmAsTeR Gallows is the new face of real Black Metal. While the influences of Mayhem, Darkthrone and others are there..They have put out something totally new and Fresh and that absolutely demands repeat listening. . One of the most original and mightiest black metal albums I've heard in a long time. I await album #2!! Definitely going on my end o year list Favorite track: Blood Spells to Forest Speed.

1.
Incense the profane flame, flickering Hear His words spoken Through gnashed teeth All tongues like fire Amidst night’s howls Feel His bellow clatter Against all throbbing things Open yourself to flame Praise His name: Beast Open the way to the grave Praise His name: Daemon And you will kneel At the edge of the wood Open yourself to flame Praise His name: Serpent Open the Edenic gates Praise His name: Death And buried, you will grow Black seeds in the glade Drunk on Devil’s blood Roots twisted in sixes
2.
Our throats are tuned The drunken songs commence Drowned in Devil’s wine Handmaids to His task Her chamber’s near Six flames at Serpent’s spear Spill not a drop, Of this beware Attend Ulisa Coiled in thorns Each night She dreams The dream of man And weaves Her wreath From evening’s boughs Lashed to the doorway Between worlds Non est potestas Super Terram quae Comparetur ei Leviathan, wreathed Twisted in folds With seven heads Entangled in creation In Liber Floridus Drawn the vehicle She carries the Child To stage for His word And drunk, She dreams The dream of man History’s dark glory, mocked Marked for elevation
3.
And so we fly In wake of shadows Prey claw-carried On odious wings The rim of evening Soon hastens night’s creed Blood spells To forest speed Blood spells Cast to kill the dawn In morning’s pallor Away from Devil’s grace We bury our bodies ‘Neath the cold earth Become as rot, as worms Sixth day, sixth hour, six words Slipped round false tongues Blood spells for return Sun flickers and falls Dirt spills from mouths We climb, we lurch, we vomit We fly again And each winter’s eve With sharp eyes, sharp teeth We prepare the meat For the Great One’s feast Gang ût, nesso, mit nigun nessiklînon
4.
The plateau stretches vast Encircled by night’s chasm Absent all structures A void of stone The great ridged back Of the end, desolation Its drama yet written A play set to unfold Past ages of iron A land of ruin It lays bare, waiting For the next millennia Mount of assembly All Judges will rise To prepare the rite Final gathering of Kings A Demon, foretold Of blood and bone Carried by Serpent From cities of man Over chasm and gate Up mount and tell This lifeless plateau The site of election And so They arrive From all four corners Bearing spices and sigils For the False One’s feast Amaymon of the East Corson of the West Ziminiar of the North Gaap of the South The plateau burns, infernal Alight in profane flame Legions freshly assembled Swoon of sharpened steel The Nine Kings of Hell An audience for One On the throne, behold The Beast will soon speak
5.
Behold the Old God With blood-filled jaw What threat looms Children of Saturn From His loins, sprung To topple His throne The ruler castrated By hand of titan Their blood will fill The chalice below His Name is a story Of violence and election The Morningstar shines The pathway to perdition What prophecy beckons What legacy answers the call All creation grasped In Death’s final grip His mighty hands lift Body after body To the great gaping jaw Of murderous history Ceres Vesta Juno Pluto Neptune Devoured His legacy A blood libel Wine-darkened colors Splattered on walls Blood dripping Into the chalice Darkness comes to Prado The Beast has many names
6.
And He appeared as a great angel Whose many wings spoke in a mighty tone “I am the Blight of Eden I am the Coming Sickness I am the Ruined Chapel I am the Poisoned Chalice I am the Mouth of Greed I am the Compelling Conjuror I am the Hidden Duke I am the Barbaric Magician “And he who finds Me Will wear My armor And he who bows to Me Will bear My crown And he who embraces Me Will cheat his own death And He took flight over the garden His touch corrupting to all creation And He came to us bearing stones With thousands of eyes like knives “Give praise to My names Let them sit upon your tongue Give praise to My image Let it bewitch your mind Give praise to My words Let them fill you Let them corrupt your speech
7.
Come and See 04:27
The first reading came Words of fire, words of decay Spilled forth from gaping mouths A chorus of blasphemy “Greater is he who lives in Me Than he who lives in the world And with thorned, ducal crown Pierced brow and crushed pate Death’s mask rests bejeweled He will appear in several forms The Bearded Philosopher The Many-Winged Angel The Scepter-Wielding Child Come to sing of Second Death Of sorcerers and their keys Of endless gates of night The Last Enemy remains Guardian of the strident seas Pained of an empty womb Leaden castle of silent halls Malady of sickness Guardian in his throne Black tower of the silent womb Come to sing of Second Death Of Pale Horse and scythe Of the great fiery lake The Last Enemy remains And they will forever hunger Gorged, clawing, on divine ordure And they will find no peace Sword and spear searching flesh And they will find no rest Their labors broken on their backs And they will seek Good Death With no map to His mansions Come and see
8.
This house, this church This garden that we crossed Ruined earth, ruined sky Mount of Lord’s command High mass of the elect Gathered round, iron clad Bearers of profane flame In praise of His great name Wreathed in Serpent’s sleep Dreamed in darkest night Crown to mitre, embodied Under Death’s shroud Summoned by blood spell Sped by forest, sped by greed Into the Mad God’s jeweled chalice Into the gaping jaws of history Chasms spanned, four winds of sin Lines held with six’s spear Roots poisoned, seed swallowed Hymns chanted on twisted tongue We have passed through His many gates With map and key, with sight “Hail Baal, Hidden King of Legions Hail Paimon, Obediant King of Secrets Hail Beleth, Fierce King of Strident Song Hail Purson, Trumpeted King of Creation Hail Asmodai, Infernal King of Lust and Flame Hail Vine, Storm King of Witches Hail Balam, Three-Headed King of Time Hail Zagan, Alchemic King of Coin Hail Belial, First King of the Elect “Rise and rejoice
